Now at peace, Betty Adams, 86, passed away quietly on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Betty was born on March 24, 1940, in Little Rock, AR to John and Ruby Parsons. She was a witness to history in 1957 as a high school senior when the Little Rock Nine integrated into Central High School. As an editor for the school paper, she wrote several articles, one of which was published in the New York Times.

While attending the University of Arkansas, she met and married her former husband, Donald Joe Adams. They moved to Yellville, then Harrison, where she spent most of her life. She and Don had two children, Kelley and Jay, whom she loved very much.

Betty worked as an administrative assistant at Cloud Corporation and White-Rodgers. Her retirement was filled with traveling and enjoying her hobbies, including painting, word puzzles, and reading.

Betty is proceeded in death by her parents, her son, Donald Jason Adams, and her son-in-law Allen Patton. She is survived by her daughter Kelley Patton (Adams) of Omaha, NE, her cousin Roberta Howitt of Ft. Collins, CO, and many much-loved friends and family.

Instead of a service, there will be a small gathering at the home of Kelley Patton on Saturday, May 9th at 10:30.
