David Downie, 56, of Omaha,NE, died peacefully on 07/17/2025.

He was born in Omaha on 03/16/1969 to Wayne and Eilene Downie. David attended Northwest high school before attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He went on to have a very successful career as a software engineer and loved Baseball, especially the LA Dodgers.

David was preceded in death by his grandparents Andrew and Mary Downie and Wilson and Jessie Martin as well as his grand daughter Charlie Moon Downie, and is survived by his parents Wayne and Eilene Downie. His children Max Downie,Shelby (Ken) Morgan, and Raiden Downie. His sister Debi (Tony) Baratta and his nephew AJ (Michaela) Baratta. His grand children Stone, Eli, Indigo, and Stetson. As well as many more family members and so many good friends.

A Celebration of Life will be had on 08/01/2025 at First Presbyterian Church (216 S 34th street Omaha, NE 68131) at 6pm-8pm. Be sure to wear your Dodger blue, Husker red, or your best tie dye to help celebrate the Life of David with us.

Donations or Memorials to David would be greatly appreciated and will go to a college fund for his son Raiden in lieu of flowers or trees. Please make checks payable to Maxwell Downie and a fund will be established.
