Farrell Lee Martin

Farrell Martin, 81, of Springfield, Nebraska, passed away at his home on October 10, 2026. He was born on January 13, 1945, to Rhoda M. Martin and William E. Martin.

Farrell grew up in humble circumstances in Shoals, Indiana. Those early years shaped his determination to build a better life for his family. A natural competitor, he lived with an "if you're not first, you're last" mentality and brought that drive to everything he pursued.

Farrell proudly served in the United States Army for five years and five months, including three years in Germany, before receiving an honorable discharge. Throughout his life, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball, softball, and volleyball.

For the past 30 years, truck pulling was never far from his mind. A true gearhead, Farrell devoted countless hours to the sport and the machines he loved. Fittingly, he died doing exactly what he loved to do.

Farrell is survived by his four sons, Tony L. Martin, Daniel R. Martin, James E. Martin, and Randall F. Martin; his grandchildren, Sarah L. Greenly, Dr. Jordan G. Martin, Taylor Martin, Brooke Martin, Kendra Martin, Cole Martin, Robert Schram, Dakota Martin, and Austin Martin; and his great-grandchildren, Stran Greenly, Rhenlee Greenly, Toryn Greenly, Teneille Greenly, Annistyn Martin, Kamrynn Schram, Brayden David, Skylar Martin, Halle Fallon, & Mia Martin

Farrell will be remembered for his determination, competitive spirit, and passion for the things he loved. His memory will remain in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
