Craig Stewart aka Ishmael Mohammed was a local guitarist and musician who was active in the Omaha music scene since the early 1970s. Talented enough to have a successful career outside the city limits on either coast, he chose to remain close to family and friends in the area. Collaborating with hometown music talent like his cousin Todd Young of Kronosynclastic, Richie Love and Love Connection, Carey Washington of Silverado and the Briley's group Smokehouse. The latter group opened for the soul/funk bands Bar-Kays, Confunkshun and his idols Parliament/Funkadelic at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in the early 80s.

Craig always left an impression on whoever he came in contact with, always personable, congenial and engaging. His love for people was matched only by his love of music. He will be missed.
