Jay Lee Wheeler, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on June 3, 2026, just a short few weeks shy of his 81st birthday. Born on June 18, 1945, in Millard, Nebraska, Jay lived a life full of warmth and joy, calling Omaha, NE, his home.

Jay graduated from Millard High School and then worked for Western Electric for 40 years before retiring. He was a hardworking man who provided for his family with pride. Beyond his career, Jay enjoyed a good game of golf, especially those sunny afternoons when he could swing his clubs and have a laugh with friends. He was also a devoted sports enthusiast, frequently cheering on his grandkids from the sidelines and celebrating their achievements with unmatched enthusiasm.

Jay is survived by his loving wife of over 44 years, Gloria; daughters, Cassandra Mason (Josh), Christine, grandchildren Juliana and Caleb; mother-in-law, Marylin Kentopp; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Michael) Perrin; Jane (John) Robertson, Marsha (Tony) Niday and a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family and friends. Jay is preceded in death by his parents, Warren "Bud" and Edna Wheeler; father-in-law, William Kentopp.

He may be gone, but Jay's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
