Russell Lee Anderson

Russell Lee Anderson, 61, of Omaha, NE, passed away on November 12, 2025, due to medical complications.

He was born on March 27, 1964 to parents Harold and Mary Louise (Stott) Anderson in Omaha, NE. Russ is survived by his step-mother Sue (Swanson) Anderson, brother Scott & Jill Anderson, sister Kristi (Anderson) & Scott Swancutt, daughter June (Anderson) and son-in-law Thomas McCarty, and daughter Colleen (Anderson) son-in-law Ryan Hartley, whom he shared with Brenda (Weisbeck) Anderson, and his beloved grandchildren Callahan McCarty, Kellan Hartley, and Vera McCarty, who were the pride and joy of his life. He deeply loved his nephews and niece, Erik & Ali (Rosenbaum) Anderson, Michael Anderson (preceded in death), Jennifer (Anderson) & Tyler Priebe, and great nieces Tatum and Josie Priebe. He treasured family above all else and was such a proud father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

As an avid outdoorsman, Russ enjoyed spending time hunting and fishing; sharing deer meat and morel mushrooms with his family and friends was something he looked forward to each season. He was proud to be a scored Pope & Young white-tailed deer archery harvest record holder. Russ also took great pride in his work; he thoroughly enjoyed serving as a Supervisor for the Meat Department at Costco, and was nominated for Employee of the Month several times within his first year of employment with Costco.

Russ could brighten up any room he stepped into with his good-natured humor and witty banter. He truly was the life of the party anywhere he went. Russ was a friend to everyone and a stranger to no one.
